Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, has been silent since August 2024, with no smartphone launches since the Poco M6 Plus. However, as the year comes to an end, the brand has become active again and announced the launch of two new smartphones, the Poco C75 5G and Poco M7 Pro 5G. As the names suggest, both are 5G-compatible smartphones aimed at budget consumers.

Poco is also preparing to launch new devices under its X-series. The lineup will consist of two smartphones – the Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro. The devices have already appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listing, confirming their imminent launch.

91mobiles has revealed design renders, colour options and memory configurations of the Poco X7 Series. Here’s everything you need to know about the Poco X7 Series launch in India.

Poco X7 to be a rebranded Redmi Note 14 Pro

According to leaked renders, the Poco X7 will feature a design similar to the Redmi Note 14 Pro, resembling the Poco X3 Pro but with a squarish camera module instead of a circular one. The renders show the device in three colours: Black, Green and Silver. Among these, the black variant is a standout, bordered with a yellow accent that creates a golden shine effect.

The leaked renders reveal the key design features including dual stereo speakers, an IR blaster, a USB Type-C charging port and microphones on the top and bottom frames. The Poco X7 has already appeared on Geekbench, revealing its specifications. It is likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro's Chinese variant.

A report by PassionateGeekz states that the Poco X7 will feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel OV02B10 macro sensor. For selfies, it will sport a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

The device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset and will come in two configurations in India: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. It will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, alongside a 5,500mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. The Poco X7 will likely run Android 14-based HyperOS out of the box.

Poco X7 Pro to run HyperOS 2.0 in India

The Poco X7 Pro will feature a vertically aligned rear camera setup, similar to the iPhone 16’s design. It will be available in Black, Green, and Yellow colour options. The black variant will sport a unique two-tone design with yellow accents on the back panel, including a yellow power button, reminiscent of the Realme 10 Pro Coca-Cola Edition. A cheeky suggestion could be for Poco to collaborate with Parle Agro and dub this version the "Poco X7 Pro Frooti Edition".

A bad joke, I know. Apologies.

According to a report, the Poco X7 Pro will be the first device in India to run Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 out of the box. By comparison, the Redmi Note 14 Series comes with Android 14-based HyperOS.

Several leaks suggest that Poco X7 Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 will share the same specifications. The X7 Pro will come in three configurations in India: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.

A leak from Weibo suggests that the Redmi Turbo 4 will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset, a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging (as per a 3C certification listing).

The Redmi Turbo 4 is said to feature a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Additionally, it will come equipped with a new Rage Engine to enhance gaming performance. It is speculated that these features will be retained in the Indian variant of the Poco X7 Pro. Similar to the Poco X7, the X7 Pro will also offer dual stereo speakers, an IR blaster, a USB Type-C charging port, and microphones on the top and bottom frames.

When is Poco X7 Series launching?

Poco is expected to start teasing the X7 Series launch by the end of this month. The devices will be launched early next year i.e. in January 2025.
